Getting to Myrtle Beach (Sunday and Monday)

Leaving about 8:30 Sunday morning, we headed down the highway (actually it was the Northway, then the Thru-way) to NJ. Stopping in NJ at Nancy and Jim's house for Easter lunch (which was quite tasty), we gathered Jean and her gigantic suitcase... We are going to be gone for a week and she packs a bag big enough to fit a body :o)

Our route for day 1 Jim and Nancy's new digs

The luggage. Crowded backseat.

Battle of Fredericksburg/Sunken Hill Rd site

Jean, Matt and Ken looking at a painted picture of what the battle "looked" like as it was happening.

Along Sunken Hill Rd (the road is on the other side of the stone wall).

Next to the cemetary from the battle is this terrace spot with the cannon balls in the front.
Dogwood tree in bloom.

Monday's drive:
Uneventful drive... Had a little rain and wind. Arrived about 7 pm.

Front of hotel... Kingston Planation complex

View of a pier from the room.... Please note the clouds and surf!
We are here...

Heading down the highway some more, we now pass through PA, into
